California’s Budget Crisis

The California state budget has been significantly impacted by COVID-19. Experts estimate a budget deficit that will transform previous priorities and present unprecedented challenges to all Californians. A panel of experts will discuss these challenges and the path towards solving California’s budget crisis.

Session 2: June 11, 2020
The Future of Latina Education

Schools across California closed and transitioned to distance learning in March in response to COVID-19, leaving students and educators grappling to adapt and significantly impacting the state budget. Learn from leading experts about how the pandemic has underlined and amplified educational inequities for English Language Learners in our state, and how they are working to close the opportunity gap.

Session 3: June 12, 2020
California’s Economic & Workforce Recovery
9:00 am - 10:30 am PST
Hear from key members of the Governor’s taskforce and legislators discuss California’s economic recovery. The discussion will focus on strategies to support homeowners, renters, small business owners, and workers during these difficult times.
